The WD Green drives do not actually have a variable spin speed. Most likely runs at a similar 5900rpm speed as the Seagate Green.

Agree with the post above. Your cartridge will have clogged heads by now. Your printer should work fine, assuming the drive belts are in good shape. Getting new cartridges will be the problem, and in some cases not worth the price. Which printer is it?
