i initially had the v1. but when the wan port got spoilt i got the v2 as the replacement. i did not find any difference in the two. i havent read anything about the v3. but i dont think it would be so bad. how about the newer netgear wndr3800 or 4000 i think

no i havent tested netgear with 1080p on 5ghz as i dont have a 5ghz usb adaptor. if your main requirement is just to view hd content then i would recommend to use wired or connect a hdd to it.

netgear wndr3700. best router i have used. using it streaming on ps3 & acryan player. (also sharing the net) will do your 3rd requirement easily. for hd on 2.4ghz it will stream 720p. but for 1080p you will need to do it on 5ghz channel. wired gigabit would be the best option for hd content...

it depends on your switch and network. i am using it on gigabit switch with dlink gigabit lan card. throughput goes to around 200-300mbps. i havent checked it in a really long time. will let you know on monday by manually copying a file.

that is spending way too much amount on the gpu. i rather spend around 8-10k max on gpu and spend the remaining money on a 2600k and a better mobo
