    Would go for the macbook with 2 gigs of ram. Runs Mac OS X natively, and also runs win vista. +IMO looks and feels sexier than the Dell XPS

    I installed OSX 10.4.8, it runs perfectly on my laptop as well, except for the sound, got everything else working. Just waiting for the drivers working for my sound.

    You can always attach a LCD..which isnt too expensive in the first case, but you still get great portability with the smaller laptop.

    Probably hardware gone bad ? try plugging it another machine and try if it accepts the drivers and runs fine.

    EMU 0202 USB is the best VFM USB card. Completely portable as well - No external power needed...runs off the USB and sounds amazing.

    Mac Books are too sexy. Can't imagine anyone not buying if they have a healthy budget of > $1000. Windows laptops are obsolete already...damnit want one so bad :(
