the athlon xp system is using a via kt400 chipset - using the VIA HyperionPro Drivers from a few months back. will swap the drive on my p4 rig later today. and will get new cables as well. at least we can eliminate the benq's from being too finicky about the media they like. i guess the problem...

your litey is a dvdrom right, thats why. the bitsetting is in effect. anyways, scans from dvd readers arent really accurate. do us all (and me in particular) a favour and get a couple of sony 8x -r discs and burn&scan them. i'm just going out to get the moser +r and will post the results shortly.
