I think they only reduced the durability loss from normal wear and tear like questing/hunting without dying. The price for repairs is still the same afaik, except you wont need to repair as often if you are not dying often.

I finally started playing with my DH this past weekend. Reached almost to the end of Act 2. Really enjoying the game now. Spent almost all of the weekend just playing.
