You sure about that? Because you can't do it so easily. It is something you have to choose on each boot. But it isn't an issue - most hardware now has 64 bit drivers. Some laptops can be painful, but for desktop hardware you'll be fine. Also, I believe there is a tool available from Microsoft...

^^The cube is one of the worst UIs I have seen ever. Very pretty, but quite useless, since it is ultimately a disturbance, and I don't care how many workspaces you have. I like the expose like effect, and the flattened version of the cube (where you just scroll through workspaces).

WHS is based off Win2k3, but it serves a different purpose. Install it if you need those features (the automated backup, drive array etc). You won't get those in W2k3, not without a lot of work and expense.

I had always heard that OpenGL was better for learning graphics because of an easier API, but simplicity is a virtue only unto a point I guess. I suppose the fact of the matter is that the largest users of OpenGL don't use hardware renderers or do game oriented programming.
