They don't need amp and most sources drive them easily. They do however scale really well and sound great when amped with almost anything. Think you should look at a budget amp/DAC combo, think that might give you a better experience than just an amp out of your pc. Even something like the Fiio...

+1 to the Grados ......................can't go wrong with them. Slightly coloured sound but guitars and vocals sound great. Where are you buying them from btw.

Have the MH1C too. Haven't seen it in a while. Used it for about half an hour, sounded just average....... Terrible terrible cable.

Yea, pristine note mentioned it. Understandable though, not viable to have it made locally. No more audio equipment for a while for me :( Will pass on these and the other SA releases that are to follow.

Think you can pickup a copper cable for about 30usd or so. They're the same ones that come with the 600/650. Don't know how much of difference it will make.

Friend has these and the cables are the worst I've seen on an IEM. Microphonics....!!! Can't wear them over the ear which means you have to use the retarded shirt clips. Who ever was behind the cable "design" should be flogged in public.

No! The HD 25 is a real gem! None of these have active noise cancellation though............if that's what the OP is after. HD25 + a shorter cable for portable use = win

Lol interesting, but not for me...................btw, you were right about the Grado g cushions. They make the mids sound a bit odd, plus they were 40SGD more than the bowl pads which actually sounded nicer :)
