buddy u need tripod...try lower shutter speed 1/30 to 2sec...reasonable ISO like 400, and fstop at about 2.7..u will get good images...if thinking to buy new camera try canon. because the best thing i like is CHDK...gives lot of options

check out canon sx30 , in my opinion...it is best option to get bridge camera first if u r new to photography, it do not hog u down with expenses....in lenses.rather buy a tripod and when u get expert on inbuit options go for CHDK firmware for ur camera gives professional setting on basic...
