    Is there a particular reason you would want to use the Mac? Will your brother be developing iOS specific applications? If not, I see no reason not to get a Windows based laptop. There are some decent configurations available under 30k.

    I'm not sure why you would want to create a dump of Wikipedia? It is very easy to access Wikipedia on the most basic mobile browsers and it would actually be counter intuitive to store a website whee the information might change over time.

    Has anyone ever used Connectify to make their laptop a hotspot to share their internet and had a problem with the Sola to maintain that wireless connection. I am having this problem, my Sola connects to the hotspot and within 2 minutes disconnects. If someone has a solution please let me know.

    Looking at your requirements I'd suggest you save yourself the money and go for the Xperia S. I prefer the Xperia design to most other, anyway that's just me. Also, if possible try getting yourself a Google Galaxy Nexus, if you are open to no warranty.

    @[comp@ddict] - I have too recently purchased an Xperia Sola from ebay and was wondering how many applications do you have running according to Advanced Task Killer at any given time? I have close too 10 applications such as McAfee, Recommender, etc. running even though I don't start them.
