    A Balanced IEM Around 1.5K

Almost everyone manufactures at China nowadays, and as you've mentioned, many brands are actually chinese OEM designs. I have this suspicion that even the Tekfusion TW are probably a chinese OEM design than an actual Indian design. However there is a difference in quality when a reputed brand...

    Sansa Clip+ help needed

As sandeepsachin points out, the Clip+ (and most Sansa players) measure very good on frequency response charts. Basically it means the player outputs clean sound without any colouration. Some do find a bit of colouration pleasing, but you can do the same on Clip+ by equalization. However its...

    Micromax FunBook Review

Why not get a dedicated audio player? For one, the battery life should be much longer than any tablet. And sound quality should be better too. Most Sansa players measure very well on frequency response.

    A Balanced IEM Around 1.5K

Not really. I've had the exact opposite experience. I have SoundMagic PL-50 which I love, and are still serving me well for almost 2 yrs now. On the other hand, I've had BrainWavz M3 that broke in just 6 months. Overall, I'm coming to the opinion that with most Chinese audio products (HiFiMan...

    Random IEM / Headphone Rants

Maybe he's enthustiastic about something he spent his money on, or maybe its Post-purchase-rationalization (Something we have all probably experienced at some point in time) http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Post-purchase_rationalization Anyway, I don't think he's a schill. Have a look at his other...

Which is better - Flipkart or ebay (buying portable speaker)?

If the Seller has a good rating, its an indication that he's probably trustworthy. You'll notice that almost all dealers on Ebay shirk away from negative rating by customers, and try to go to lengths to avoid it. I believe this is because Ebay offer more attractive rates to dealers that have a...

    Suggest a great 2.0(bookshelf) or 2.1 System

Sure, No problem, I wouldn't mind. Do keep in mind that I have a somewhat limited exp, so I might not be able to help out in all scenarios.

    freeware pdf editor - urgent

You can use OpenOffice/LibreOffice to create PDF documents. While they cannot edit the PDFs directly, if you create the source document in their native 'odt' format, you can always edit the source, and then regenerate the PDFs.

    External Graphics card

The problem is that bandwidth on most of the external interfaces is too slow for something like a GPU. I haven't seen such a product, although that doesn't preclude it. However the viability for such a product would be very low, so I'm pretty skeptical. I believe there was some product in the...

How to connect HiFi Speakers to PC

If your speakers are sensitive, and have a higher impedance (8 ohms), then the Topping TP20 (~5k) is good VFM. Otherwise, a Norge amp (~10k) would suffice. The Norge amp has higher output power than the TP20, so they'll pair easily with a lot more speakers than the TP20.

My Impressions: ATH A900 and FiiO E10

You mentioned Headphones, and for those, the DG is anyday better than DX. From what I remember from reviews, I believe they're not that far off from the DX in terms of SQ. For driving speakers, all 3 are suitable (DG, DX, STX). If you're looking for Headphones and Speakers, only 2 are...

How Apple (and other tech companies) Sidestep Billions in Taxes

If the percieved value of the product or service is acceptable to customer, then there is no insincerity involved. Except if the business tried to project the percieved value as its cost price. If the office boy says the item cost 50, and his time and effort were worth 150, then there's no...

Reliance Blocking vimeo and torrent sites in India

Take the below with a pinch of salt ; I'm not a lawyer This looks like a scare tactic than an actual action from their side. From a financial perspective, it doesn't make any sense for them. Their lawyer's fees alone would exceed the amount they can hope to recover. There's an off-chance that...

How Apple (and other tech companies) Sidestep Billions in Taxes

When I pay Rs. 200 to the "concierge" desk at my office to submit my Tax forms to the govt tax office, it might actually only cost the person 50 bucks in fuel costs. But to me its a bargain, because I see my time as more valuable than the cash I paid up. Its not always about the raw costs...

Car & Bike Supreme Court bans use of all type of tinted car glass films

You have stated exactly what I was thinking. To me, the reasoning for this ruling is very flawed. Just because a knife can be used to kill, it doesn't mean that knives should be licensed like guns. Just because some incidents are speculated to happen with tinted glass, it doesn't mean that it...

    Suggest a great 2.0(bookshelf) or 2.1 System

For that budget, usually you'll be recommended the Wharfedale 9.1 (~12k when I last checked) + Norge Amp (~10k). The Norge Amp is considered to be entry level, but it outputs decent power. So you can still keep the amp around, if you choose, even if you upgrade the speakers. I haven't actually...

Review Cheated by Jainex computers, SP road, Bangalore EDIT: Resolved

I had been at Mumbai and I could maybe buy your argument for some dealers at Lamington Road. But my experience tells me its not applicable at SP road. And from what I hear, Hyderabad is an entire rip-off. Prices are too high, and no proper after-sales service too. Hell, when I bought my mobile...

Which is better - Flipkart or ebay (buying portable speaker)?

Not really. Ebay is known globally as a flea market . There have been many cases of people getting items which are not as described. The good thing about Ebay is the payments are done escrow to Paypal (PaisaPay in India), and money is released to seller only when buyer consents. FlipKart is...

How to connect HiFi Speakers to PC

No way on earth. The output power of soundcards are in terms of milliwatts, while speakers need in order of 10's of watts. Besides, as puneetritehere has mentioned, you also run the risk of frying the soundcard's amp with a heavy load like 'bare' speakers.

My Impressions: ATH A900 and FiiO E10

I'll second bennysachdev's suggestion to rather avoid the DX. The DX is basically a multichannel card. It's great for powered speakers, and HT setups, but will fall short for headphone usage. Not that the Sound Quality would be bad, but because it lacks a decent internal amp. So if you were...
