cost wise, yes (I have the same pro board in my PC (MSI B150M PRO VDH)) The mortar also has a M2 slot, but i believe that this supports only wi-fi cards. (apart from LED lighting if you want to bling it up) both boards are great, its up to your requirement to figure out what works for you.

MSI B150M MORTAR has the ability to add a second GPU but only at 4x lanes. the mortar board is targeting gamers while the Pro board is for workstations , i think there is a difference of 2k between these boards, with the pro being cheaper.

from my experience, buying locally in SP road would be cheaper, the prices I got from Aashirwad \ Golchaa were lower than any of the portals. of course you would need to add 5.5% VAT.

the reference design card may still have only display ports and HDMI, you would probably have to wait for custom cards from different manufacturers which would have different output ports.

Yes.. this was the same config I had in mind before I realized that I need a GPU. more than enough. Processor - 65W mother board - 10W - 15W leaving plenty for other HDD's and peripherals. the OP is not planning a GPU, that seriously reduces his power requirements.

I would stick with the skylake for the better GPU, considering the small confines of the case and limited power available, skylake would be cooler and less power hungry. any reason why B150? Asrock has good H170 chipset based motherboards, H170M-ITX AC or H170M-ITX DL. (around 9k - 10 K at...
