Google announces Ice Cream Sandwich for Q4 2011, for smartphones and tablets alike

Re: Google announces Ice Cream Sandwich for Q4 2011, for smartphones and tablets alik I had a blast today at Google I/O! The free Galaxy Tab was such an awesome bonus. But some of the sessions were fantastic, the keynote was great and the Fireside Q&A session with the Android team was fantastic...

Fantastic. It's not overwhelming, and it's dependent on the song. It responds very well to EQ too.

Yup, the JH16 Pro. You can see my initials as well. Initial impressions : Insane bass, accuracy, timbre and soundstage. Live tracks sound absolutely surreal, and the energy these give you is incredible! The bass isn't overpowering at all, though there is a slight boost, but it's dependent on...

    The Windows Phone 7 thread

Hehe, everyone's mileage varies! For me, I hate the fact that there are virtually no 3rd party background services implemented, and the People integration feels half done. I'm a heavy Twitter user, and the fact that WP7 does not allow any app to poll for data in the background is a huge...

It took me two hours to believe...32mbps..

US, Pennsylvania. I'm on a university connection(Penn State), thus the high speeds. Regular household connections are between 3-32mbps, depending on the user requirements. My cousins in LA have a 6mbps connection, they're not that tech savvy and are satisfied with 6mbps. But my cousin in Chicago...

Not yet, IMO. I would wait for Mango. Multitasking is sorely needed, and the 3rd party apps don't have great performance. The UI is definitely there, but lack of any sort of background services is a deal breaker for me. NoDo update improves upon launch times, but the in app performance still...

It took me two hours to believe...32mbps..

Not true at all. This coming from a guy who currently has an internet speed of around 85-95 mbps, and during holidays in India, 2-4mbps. The only thing that happens to you is extreme frustration in waiting for the downloads to get completed and videos to buffer. The content is there, in...

The stock apps and UI is completely lag-free and very smooth, but I wish I could say the same about 3rd party apps.

It took me two hours to believe...32mbps..

You don't need a download rig with such speeds.. everything gets downloaded in a flash. :D It's sad to think 32mbps is slow for me.. I'm gonna miss my uni connection when I come home in the summer! Congrats, enjoy the speeds! Having fast internet is a massive boon. :D

Great writeup.. interesting to read his views about the downsides of balanced portables. Hehe. Makes me wonder if I can get some money by trading for a Mustang or a Pico Slim, along with the cables..

Blackbird SR-71B is pretty awesome, not SR-71A. Best balance of power and cost IMO, is the Protector..
