    The Google Nexus S Thread!

Yup, I got the Nexus S around 12 hours back, in the morning. Luckily no one in my city seems to be a geek, no clue about Nexus S. :P Best Buy had only 4 pieces, not one had been sold when I went! OEM unlocked it, rooted it.. and enjoying the 2.3 goodness!

    The Google Nexus S Thread!

LG Optimus 2X is launching with 2.2, and LG are saying they will update it with 2.3 soon. The phone will take 2-3 months to launch, and then some time to update. If you really want that hardware and don't mind being behind on the software, sure, go get the LG Optimus 2X. --- Updated Post -...

    The Google Nexus S Thread!

No, you can't. There are still quite a lot of differences between the two. It's not a direct copy at all, not like N1 --> Desire & G2 --> Desire Z. --- Updated Post - Automerged --- You're really naive to think developers will "fascinate" the LG Star over a Nexus S. FYI, I'm pretty sure...

    The Google Nexus S Thread!

HTC won't use Tegra 2, they will use the Qualcomm dual core chips. --- Updated Post - Automerged --- That doesn't make any sense. It was already known Nexus S is using ext4, for quite a while. Something similar is already happening since some time for the SGS, in form of Voodoo. How does NS...

Err.. I put my bags through the scanner, pick them up and walk out? :/ WTH! I don't have to do any such thing.. lol.

Just tell your friend to carry both in his pocket.. I got 5 phones down, 2 in pockets, 3 in my backpack.

    The T-Mobile G2 / HTC Desire Z thread

Yup, it's pretty fast. It slowed down yesterday for me though, but that was due to the amount of apps I had running, and opening constantly, just for the heck of it! :D Can't wait to see how faster the Nexus S is.

    Google Nexus S is out

If you have it in your hand, using it, and it's not sealed away in a box, you shouldn't have any problems. Also, if I'm not wrong you're allowed to carry stuff upto Rs. 25000 without being charged duty. Sent from my T-Mobile G2.

And that is why the Nexus S is a much better phone. Honeycomb/3.0 is supposed to come out in Q2..

    Google Nexus S is out

The question is not whether it's getting 2.3 or not. The question is when. Sent from my T-Mobile G2.

    The T-Mobile G2 / HTC Desire Z thread

Oh ok. When I tried it, they said to run it after installing CM6.1, cause it could run on that kernel only. lol.

    The T-Mobile G2 / HTC Desire Z thread

Tried the gfree tool? I think you need to install CM6.1 for that.

    The T-Mobile G2 / HTC Desire Z thread

I'd buy a Samsung phone only if I know the software part is in good order. :P (Nexus S, that is.. their internal hardware is awesome.) Yeah, the problem you faced is a known problem, unlocking via entering the code. Luckily scotty2 broke all forms of security, Radio, HBoot, Super CID and SIM...

    The Google Nexus S Thread!

Android 2.3 Platform Highlights | Android Developers The two features you mentioned are for applications/games. Not the OS itself. In that video, only the browser seems to lag.. with the flash plugins.. :( Can't help it.. lol. Putting it on "on-demand" makes it smoother. Atleast that's how it...

    The Google Nexus S Thread!

2.3 doesn't have GPU assisted UI. And the garbage collector is mainly helpful with games or apps that consume a lot of memory. Where did you see the video? I wanna take a peek at it too! :P Nexus S will definitely get 3.0.. and even a bit further. N1, no idea.

    Google Nexus S is out

Don't fool yourself, they're not identical. It's not like Desire/N1 or G2/Desire Z, however similar, there are still quite a lot of minor differences that'll be a PITA for the ROM cookers, to port it over to the SGS.

    Google Nexus S is out

It's more to do with US, FCC & carrier nonsense than the phone itself. No American phones come with FM(might have hardware, but no software) but all European and Asian bound phones have FM.
