I used per ccx oc. after much testing and using high voltage found 2 cores on 1 CCD can run 4.4ghz but the other CCD cores can't run above 4.2.

All the gaming gains are at 1080p compared to 3xxx series (negligible at 1440p and 4k). So for competitve gamers using 1080p 200+ hz displays its a big jump.

Thankfully for my use case of 1440p there are negligible gains so can stick with 3900x and just get a 3080. All the gains in gaming seem to be in 1080p where it is more cpu bound.

But that reddit pricing is expected? Why expect lower when they have increased $50 from 3xxx series. I got my 3900x at launch for 42k and expect 49-50k for 5900x matching the increase and additional tax on it.
