Are you using any smart plugs at home, how has the experience been

A workaround would be if they added the plug to HA/nodered and accessed that remotely. Cloud access for the plug is not required then.

Monitors Suggest - IPS 22/24" Office Use (Budget 7-10k)

Just bought a MS PRO 225 monitor, and it has been splendid so far, especially for the price I bought it for (I bought it for 5100 on Amazon, but it is currently 6500). You can try looking for other sites or local market for a better price.

Are you using any smart plugs at home, how has the experience been

I honestly never bothered with blocking cloud access, so I can't comment. I should try blocking internet access for the device at the router level. The model I have is Zebronics ZEB-SP110 10A smart plug.

Are you using any smart plugs at home, how has the experience been

The process can be a little confusing, look up videos on youtube. It involves creating a tuya developer account and getting a key. But it is one time only, and takes hardly 10 minutes if you're relatively tech savvy.

Are you using any smart plugs at home, how has the experience been

Most devices are rebranded Tuya plugs, and there is a method and python library called tinytuya which enables offline access and control for Tuya devices. I have a Zebronics plug, which cannot be flashed with tasmota, but works with TinyTuya. It has been working perfectly for the past 3-4 months.

Budget Recommendations for a Game Controller for a PC

Isn't there a possibility of the joysticks drifting over time if used?

Storage Solutions Need cloud options to transfer and store massive offline data

iDrive has terrible reviews. You could look at Backblaze Personal Backup, it offers unlimited backup AS LONG AS the drives are connected to your PC. (I think it does weekly checks to see if the data is still there)

0-20k Need help with a (used?) budget low-power-usage build for a NAS.

I figured that, but its impossible to find a system with low power usage, and SATA ports. All mini PCs I've seen have only one 2.5' disk drive. Also I plan to run a couple services on the Nas so usb to router won't work.

Rgb strip for for 55 inch tv

I'm using a 5v 5A SMPS power supply for my RGB LEDs and there is 0 flickering. The store that sells the rgb strips should have decent suitable power supplies too.

Rgb strip for for 55 inch tv

You can also go the DIY route, buy addressable LED strips from your local market, with a esp8266 based nodemcu board and flash WLED on it. No soldering required, they come with pre soldered wires. Approximate cost should be around: ESP: 250 Power supply: 450 LEDs: 800

I haven't been able to find anything without an obscene pricing, but I'll keep an eye out, thank you.

Graphic Cards Question regarding GPU Repair.

Hello all. I have an old gaming PC that is kept in a wooden cabinet with cables being routed through a hole (Stupid, I know), but I rarely use it for gaming, so temps never mattered. Recently I found myself with an hour of free time, so I loaded up Saints Row on it, but didn't remove the tower...

Guide Teardown and preparation of Polycab's 16A Wi-Fi Smart Plug for Tasmota

I just wanted to say thanks for a great guide! I just started my tasmota journey with a oakter smart plug, which luckily had male header pins already soldered when I opened it, so it was a breeze. This looks MUCH more complicated lol

0-20k Need help with a (used?) budget low-power-usage build for a NAS.

That looked appealing, but $119 is the price without RAM or power supply or HDD cables. To use it as a server the kit costs $160, plus $30 shipping, PLUS customs, and indian customs are notorious for charging 100% or MORE for customs lmao, not to mention the OLD CPU.

Hello. People on FB marketplace listing their used-for-8-years, i3 2rd Gen PC for 6k INR, and 10+ year used laptops with broken screens and broken keys for 4k+. Literal EWaste is being listed. So I come to you for help. I am planning to use no more than 2 HDDs with no Raid and a nightly...
