    Power management for my miniPC

You could use wake on lan (WoL) to trigger the PC to power-on. However you'd need a separate always-on device to do this. Maybe your router if it supports it (easier if its running custom firmware). Another option is to use a smart plug and turn it off and on (automatically when your control...

    Power management for my miniPC

Do you want to increase backup time or just want to safely shutdown the machine on power failure which lasts more than say 20-25 minutes? Regarding the latter, I think it would be easier with a UPS which offers a communication port so that you can interact with the UPS to detect power failure...

Any way to use a dell adapter on hp

There is a separate control signal through a 3rd wire, which is why it is not working as-is. This control signal is used to determine if the charger is genuine or supported etc. Even if you swap the connectors it may not work...

Suggestion for Router | Office use | Airtel Xtreme

@guest_999 It works for BSNL too, I mentioned Airtel specifically as this thread was related to Airtel. BSNL cannot be generalised too, as the equipment used would vary all over the country due to it being managed mostly by a local cable operator. Eitherway, I have used my own ONT with BSNL from...

Suggestion for Router | Office use | Airtel Xtreme

@zoozoo I personally prefer a basic ONT without wifi and other bells/whistles, and use my own router + AP as needed. Coming to the ONT, I've personally used Huawei HG8120C and Digisol DG-GR6011. The Digisol is basically a VSOL rebrand, so you can find the same unit from other brands as well...

Suggestion for Router | Office use | Airtel Xtreme

Most ISPs do, with Airtel it’s pretty easy. Same for BSNL. Jio I think needs some extra tweaks.

Suggestion for Router | Office use | Airtel Xtreme

@guest_999 Or you could get an ONT on your own, and use that. I've been running that way for a while now. Just need to clone the GPON serial to the new ONT and it usually starts working. After that you can use your own router without any restrictions.

0-20k Desktop PC Configuration without Monitor for office use for 20k budget

Any particular reason for avoiding refurbished/renewed units? Micro form factor PCs from Dell, Lenovo, HP are pretty solid devices, and you see them for sale mostly those used by big companies which need to cycle the units every 3 years or so. I got a Dell Micro last year, and when I got it...

Linksys LN1301 - Group Buy from US

Correct, when using the stock firmware, if wireless mesh is used, it seems to use one of the two 5 GHz radios as dedicated backhaul. Even on OpenWRT, you could configure the same way.

Linksys LN1301 - Group Buy from US

Some images from stock firmware, this is my second unit and its currently in bridge mode. The non-bridge mode has some more options. Any OpenWRT capable unit can do mesh with wired or wireless backhaul, but what makes this better is, it is tri-band with 3 radios, so you can use one of the...

Linksys LN1301 - Group Buy from US

On stock firmware USB won't work, but with OpenWRT/DD-WRT it does work. Regarding the Mesh, that's right. I was able to setup mesh without issues using the stock firmware. However, I found the stock firmware pretty limited, so I installed OpenWRT snapshot.

Linksys LN1301 - Group Buy from US

No, all are 1G ports. 2GB RAM/1GB storage. The stock firmware supports wireless and wired mesh. If you install OpenWrt you can do pretty much anything.

Linksys LN1301 - Group Buy from US

Will be approx 1.5 kg for the device, power adapter and ethernet cable. This is a great price actually, I am suspecting they have not considered the box to be as big and the weight on Amazon.com is also on the lower side. So those interested place the orders soon, as once they start receiving...

Linksys LN1301 - Group Buy from US

I'm aware that they'd consolidate by removing the product from the shipping box (outer box) and combine multiple products as a single package, however normally such consolidation happens keeping the manufacturer's box if present as-is I would think. I think in the pics you shared also they did...

Linksys LN1301 - Group Buy from US

How so? Planet Express uses volumetric weight right and not actual weight. Volumetric weight is bit more. Unless you get it shipped to some contact in US, re-package it, and re-ship to PlanetExpress without boxes. Does PlanetExpress do re-packaging by removing boxes? I guess not.
