Plenty of custom froyo roms available. And 2.3 based on Cyanogenmod is already out but not stable yet. If something goes wrong yea i think pretty much done for. But if anything does happen maybe you can try getting it fixed by Dell since they sell the XCD35 here.

Thats a nice price drop for the XCD! It was selling at 15.2k or something a few weeks back. I think its still the pick of the segment. And if you can get it from the UK, well then its just a steal!

Are you guys forgetting its mini-ATX. Its meant to be used in a HTPC, with low power consumption. Only ION can compete with this, and im sure its priced at least the same or more. For approx 8k its not a bad deal IMO

My advice would be to get two 23" U2311's instead. A dual monitor setup would be a nice option instead of a 27 incher, unless you really want the high res that is. Also remember, on the high resolution, movies would be upscaled and so wont look that good. On the U2311H, since it is full HD...
