I got two xboxes Softmodded at Punjagutta- Ambrit. He did it for 750 each.I think it was 1.60 cuz it needs the activation disk for a lot of games. I think he can be trusted, but you never know when you run out of luck... BTW I need to get one done at Mumbai too.

Use any other power cable from ur PC / monitor / laptop. It works. Try Ambrit Electronics at punjagutta for soft-modding.
