Hehe..i am feeling better i didnt pick up the xps. Atleast i can play at 1366*768 with high presets and 1080p with medium presets. Gpu is 550m btw.

If you go for the XPS, make sure you get it with Full HD and the Nvidia 540m. Everything else can be taken care of at some point of time.

G53/G73SW will get refreshed with the 560M GPU chipset soon. Rather wait for that. 560M supports optimus unlike 460M and has slightly upped clocks.

Been using the N53SN myself. It offers the best bang-for-buck. As far as hardcore gaming is concerned, of the 3 laptops you have listed, the MSI unit is the best. Till the nvidia 560m trickles in, theres no other gaming option at that budget. In India i.e.

Do check out the Asus N53SN.

Check out the ASUS N53SV. It has better specs than the XPS you have selected and will also stay within your budget. But do note that the keyboard isnt backlit. As for the build, its good because I am using its elder brother, the N53SN and its solid.

I agree with pauldmps on the price of the VAIO. This makes it better VFM than the Dell. As for the GPU, there isnt much between the 2. I dont know if I should even comment about the color of the VAIO. Keeping that aside, personally I would have gone for it.

Better call those pseudo-Roms. They build up on the actual standard rom. Works great though.
