automatics and fuel efficiency don't go hand in hand, however in case of activa it just does, with a decent mileage of ~40 kms to 1 liter is the best it does...don't wanna sound rude asking this, does she have road experience ? activa does have a powerful automatic engine. i have seen the likes...

yep +1, i did more of reading and the 1000D comes out better than the D1000....only thing is i would have to spend more on the IS lens. Currently I'm looking out for a dealer who can sell me body only and then I can just purchase the stock IS lens separately. which is additional 2.5k I remember...
