PC Peripherals Suggest Blue LED 120MM fan

Chirag, do you know where I can get sickle flow? Local dealer here in Bangalore claimed there is no such thing. I ended up buying Scythe Kama Flow 2 from Prime, which might be somewhat better but more expensive too.

PC Peripherals Innovative PC setup (where to buy and what to buy). SUGGESTIONS PLEASE !!!

As far as I remember, ergonomic experts do not recommend the headrest for chair unless the chair is used for sleeping in. Not good for neck.

    PC Peripherals SMPS suggestion

Check here : ASUSTeK Computer Inc. -Support- Recommended Power Supply Wattage Calculator My guess : no, corsair 430 v2 would be the minimum "good" PSU. Depending on output from above calculator, Antec Basiq 350 might do (just under Rs 2000)

    CPU/Mobo POST issue with beeps

I am a bit obsessive about anti-dust. I have a fan sized "curtain" made of light weight cloth tied to the top of the rear exhaust fan vent, which protects from dust when PC is switched off. When PC is switched on, by the force of air it is lifted and comes in a horizontal position to allow air...

    CPU/Mobo POST issue with beeps

    1. Look for any swollen/cracked capacitors on the motherboard (cylindrical objects). People having skill with soldering rod can replace such capacitors, but getting new motherboard might be easier and safer. Bad capacitors do give intermittent issues like you describe. 2. Graphics card and...

21-30k Suggestions Required for Upgrading PC

I am not saying resolution does not matter that much. I am saying resolution very much matters. But lower resolution needs more CPU power than higher resolution. There is a link to a whole article explaining that too. I guess comprehension power of people was better in stone age. This might...

21-30k Suggestions Required for Upgrading PC

Very general statement, and so while it cannot strictly be incorrect, but does give a false impression. Resolution of gaming actually has a negative correlation with requirements from CPU. I.e. the higher the resolution you game at, the more you can manage with a slower CPU. In other words...

0-20k Need new config for light office work

This is not exactly a thin client, only slightly similar. If you insist on hard drives, you'd have to make big compromises to make the 15 k mark, you should up it to 18 k. I'll update the configuration in a while, though others are more up to date with prices so they are better placed for it.

0-20k Need new config for light office work

Template would be helpful. But a few pointers : 1. Don't go for hard disks as it would eat up a lot of your budget. Install OS on a cheap USB pen drive (4 or 8 GB can be had for Rs. 300-400). Install on one and clone on others using dd command to save time. 2. Go for AMD E-350 or E-450 based...

Storage Solutions Would SSD Benefit here??

Except for boot times, for everything else a ramdisk is much faster, and cheaper (as the PC has 32 GB RAM so free) than an SSD. Especially if used mainly for a single application (Corel).

Storage Solutions Would SSD Benefit here??

Storage Solutions Weird problem in mobile's microSD card... Help!!

Ok. Never used Mint, so cannot be completely sure of the process. But in general, as it should be in any kind of linux, these are the steps. There should not be any risk as there is no destructive activity. Report back if output / behaviour of any step is substantially different from what is...

Storage Solutions Weird problem in mobile's microSD card... Help!!

The card must be giving I/O errors on reading, intermittently. Normal software to read from such media will be very painful, you'll have to get each file separately and maybe even parts of each file. You need recovery software. Not sure how to do it on windows, but on Linux ddrescue works...

APC 650 VA would be fine. It can supply about 350 W power, which is enough for your current build.

    CPU/Mobo Proc + Mobo + Ram Compatibility

Upto 1333 MHz on Sandy Bridge (32 nm) and 1600 on Ivy Bridge (22 nm) is same for most of the B75 (and even H77) motherboards. You can get 1600 MHZ with Ivy Bridge (22 nm) processors, which is i5 3xxx processors (i3 3xxx and i7 3xxx are also included, among others) with Asus P8B75-M too.

41-50k Configuration for Web Server - Site hosting as well as data storage

Non-burst : Can be easily handled by Intel core i3 or AMD FX 8150 (you can wait for the new FX 8350 too). Advantage with AMD here is ECC memory support, with Intel you need Xeon just for ECC. But during burst traffic, the server would be limited by disk I/O. You would most likely know the...

41-50k Configuration for Web Server - Site hosting as well as data storage

My 3 year old Samsung spica Android phone can run a web-server. Raspberry pi costing Rs. 2650 can run a web server. And the billions of dollars Google's network of data centres can also run a web server. How many hits do you expect for your web server per second? If you are not sure of the web...

Need a HTPC for my friend under 20k.

For most people spending more than 1500 on cabinet**, ability to install a longer graphics card is more important than installing 6 hard disks. So for them, it makes sense. For you, the needs are completely different. So it doesn't make sense. Quickly buy last generation's cabinets before they...
