Yes it is a commercial software which means it has to be paid for. Whatever they ship is a trial version/developer version which is limited in features. If you are not particular about WebLogic, why don't you have a look at JBoss? Free and feature laden and quite interesting to learn.

How are the ambient temps like? Any case 40C during idle is high unless the motherboard is reporting oc'ed values :) And applying AS5 will not void any warranty as it is just like any another thermal paste ( not in performance though :D ).
