Reading all the comments I'm leaning towards samsung now for the out of the box experience. I own a Moto myself and most third party apps did not give good quality recording and the ones that did give, broke after a few updates. Not sure how to deal with samsung slowdown maybe regular debloating...

Phone isn't for me, it's for someone who's not that good with phones. Do give out some recommendations, I'll check them out for user-friendliness. Some of the apps I've tried before use microphone to record and they audio ends up being very low and can't make out the conversation.

Yes will go for a 16gb ram version, 8gb nowadays isn't enough, especially with laptops with pre-installed bloatware.
