HD Tune didn't show bad sectors with quick scan on my HDD, only normal scan detected the bad sectors.

When i feel that something is wrong with my pc, i usually check event viewer. If there are bad blocks it will show which HDD has it. After that i scan with HD Tune to confirm it.

Usually what happens is that when you remove the cable from the HDD, boot device priority changes in BIOS. Check if it's set to the HDD where your OS is installed. As for WD failures, i recently bought WD Caviar Blue 500GB which developed bad sectors after 2 weeks. Really shakes your confidence...

No crashes, windows freezes when i access files in the first partition of the WD drive, but resumes after few seconds. So i'm assuming the bad sector to be on this partition. I've no problem accessing files in other partitions. BTW my OS is installed in the 80GB IDE drive.

Is this a login page from a web page? If so, have u tried opening it in a different browser? If the font remains the same with other browsers, most probably it's how it was programmed to appear.

I'm not sure this will help but u might try lowering the "Global maximum number of connections" to around 100 or 150, and "Maximum number of connected peers per torrent" to 50.

I don't know if this will be permanent but my speed doubled since yesterday around 6pm. I'm in the 599 plan as well and download speed is now around 55kBps. Hope they are implementing the plan in delhi as well.

By media i'm assuming u mean the video. For this i've been using pinnacle studio for a long time. There's also ulead video studio, give both of them a try n use the one u like. As for more advanced users there's Adobe Premiere Pro.
