31-40k Advice on Upgrade path to choose - CPU or GPU

Not as much. Yes ideally Rx 6700 with full 16 lanes is better but if budget is limited, then 6600XT with PCIe 3.0 x8 is perfectly serviceable as shows in my system PCI scaling for 6600XT

    71-90K buying a convertible laptop

Offline ofcoure. My rule of buying anything used - face 2 face. I'm in blr so no shortage of IT companies and proper resellers who offload thinkpads from such companies at cheap rates. Both resellers had swanky stores and gave me 3 months testing warranty. Yes I meant Envy, rather any consumer...

    71-90K buying a convertible laptop

Hp x360 hinges are trash as any consumer laptop. HP = Hinge problem. On the other hand, HP ELitebook convertible - business laptop are very good though. Many of my colleagues use (abuse) it thought it remains a minority among Thinkpad convertibles owing to more variants.

SSD Bulk Thread - Used / OB / Pulled Units | NVME / SATA

Oh ok, thanks for the clarification. Would like to know which model and what would be the cost considering Sata is considerably slower than nvme. Dram is not really needed in nvme as they can use HMB but Sata drives cant so dram is critical there.

Help me find power supply cables for CoolerMaster 850W SFX

I requested him to build custom length braided cables for SF600 PSU (24 pin and GPU 8 pin only) for my e-GPU setup. He is a master craftsman !! I won't know what would be proper for a specific frame. You can see how they look here: Album

    71-90K buying a convertible laptop

I have used convertible laptops before but hinges have failed to me. Frustrated, I ditched consumer laptops and for a year only using used business 2-in-1 laptops. Their hinges are a class apart. I currently own Thinkpad X1 Yoga (intel 10th gen) (aluminium build) and Thinkpad X13 Yoga (intel...

31-40k Advice on Upgrade path to choose - CPU or GPU

My system is sort of similar. Old Core i5 6600K with 6600XT and I use it to play comfortably in 1440p - as seen here. I have tried stronger GPUs like RX 6800 and didnt see cpu bottlenecking as I mostly play gpu dependent AAA titles. Hence, If I were you, I would replace the 6600XT with...

    90K+ Gaming PC build help

On a different point, I also build my first SFF gaming PC in 2016 and it still plays at 1440p high setting in most newer AAA titles ( with occasional help from upscaling once in a while). You can check out the specs & games benchmarks here. So surprised your system can't do it but hey you do you...

Guide How good is a 24-inch 1440p monitor compared to a 27-inch one? share your experience if you have used either.

I wanted to get 24 inch 1440p high refresh rate monitor but they are just not available in India (...and rare outside too) Finally settled for 27 inch 1440p high refresh rate. I definitely feel 27 inch is too big for me but the LG one had too low of a refresh rate. Yes, 1440p in 24 inch has very...

Gaming Gear Durable mouse suggestion for regular use with irregular gaming

I use both Logitech G304 and Razer Orochi v2. When my Logitech G304 developed double click issues, I ordered TTC Gold Dustproof switches, disassembled the mouse and took out the daughter board and asked a local mobile repair shop to solder it in for Rs 200. No issues after that. Will do the same...

Moto Book 60 + eGPU | A capable portable gaming setup | My thoughts

Oculink eGPU exists. TB5 eGPU boards do not. (techically they do but most seem to be in pre-launch certification phase). For the next 2-3 years TB5 controllers will guarantee 64 Gbps for eGPU use cases (128 Gbps for non eGPU use cases like running several 4k monitors), thus matching Oculink...

Review are thinkpads still better than dell lattitude??!

i5 11th Gen is my fav processor out of all. 12th gen (esp i7) has poor battery and 9/10th gens have weaker cpu & iGPU. For coding, 13 inch may be too small but subjective.

Review are thinkpads still better than dell lattitude??!

Both being business laptops, I am assuming you are talking about used, IT-companies-offloaded-through-auctions laptops as generally consumers will not buy a business laptop new for >1.2-1.4 lakhs. Thinkpads just have a dominant market share among companies so thats what you see more in the used...

21-30k Reliable basic laptop for a teenager

Durable ? Then all consumer laptops go out of the window. No way you will get trully durable non-plastic hinges below 1 lac. Used thinkpads are the only answer. Can drop them from first floor and they will live.
