I will try what is mentioned in first link (using ubuntu) and will get back to you...... The issue is I even dont know whether the files are just hidden or are actually gone (i.e. deleted) by the virus.

She used AVG (which showed no virus, trojan, etc) but the issue still remained so I installed kaspersky but even after full scan no issues were detected but the problem still remains. Dont know how to use linux (as havnt used it) to recover but will try. Any more suggestions? Thanks

This xexmenu, swap.xex comes default with jtag or i need to ask them to separately install them. Please also tell me what else i need to get installed with jtag which dont come by default on jtag'ing as I dont want to run back to the modder to get needed things installed later, I should know...
