Reliable, yes. But HDDs can have almost unlimited write endurance as long as the rest of the conditions are favourable. SSDs just have a finite lifespan.

It is mostly obscure stuff, that you don't find in India that makes most sense to get from the US. Enterprise hardware, etc. Also, they have a huge used goods market, so one can get great deals at times.
