nice steps. thanks. i finally managed it yesterday. i wanted to know a way without getting the motherboard out. but the way chipset fan is attached to the motherboard, there seems none. heard that this fan too makes noise over time.

seriously. any ideas?

just got the VC-RE. any guides on how to remove the chipset fan? did not find any good ones yet.

I had got the AC NV silencer rev 3 in Dec 05 for my NVidia 7800 GTX and now the fan of that silencer is making a lot of noise. The fan is not detachable and so I would have to RMA or get a new one. Didn't check but is the same model still available? Any suggestions? Thanks.
