have you checked the cpu support page? as it will tell you which cpus are supported by what bios. if the cpu isnt listed then that means no support on that board for it. though you didnt say which PII so its hard to say which one your calling new. here is the link to the boards product page...

in single threaded apps yes the 220 will be faster. Both 230 and 330 will be able to handle multi threaded apps. which will make the atom 230/330 a better way to go. even for multi tasking the atom setups will be the way to go on the cheap vs the Celeron 220.

pass on the NV based board and get a G31 or G41 based board. the NV one can only do single channel to the memory controller. the G31/G41 are dual channel, which in gaming can/does make a difference.

my E7200 can tag 3.8ghz@1.18v 24/7 stable... what were your other voltage settings? what motherboard are you running?

nothing wrong with 945 its cheap for intel to make and sell. the atom MITX boards are ment for just that. the US15 chipset would be nice to have but is limited to only 1GB of ram. has a PowerVR video chip that can handle H264 vs the GMA950. im not sure what the big deal is... if you cant...

G31, is the one to get... the dual channle memory vs single in most apps as well as gaming will make a difference. G3x chipsets do support 1333/333 fsb nativly so no oc mod needed like the NV7000 board.

70c is high to my standards, i try to keep it at 60c but you are on the stock cooler. if your using realtemp or coretemp keep at least a 30c buffer to TJmax, when looking at it that way... which i know doesnt correspond to a 60c load temp, but i look at both... for the most part i go by delta...

here are other chipsets formly known as Poulsbo Chipsets (Formerly Poulsbo) it is sad though when the US15W's GMA500 video chipset can do H264 decoding. even with a 1gig of ram limitation it would have been better to use that on the Atom 230/330 setups.

with the setup as you listed the psu should be ok even with ocing. if you add in a video card later you will want a bigger PSU with ocing. though i urge you to get a lower end E2000 and get a bigger PSU now. all you want is 3ghz and you will be able to hit that on the board /ram. im not sure...
