Sorry to resurrect an old thread, but I've had the corruption problem without maxtor drives (using samsung drives), so I doubt maxtor's to blame. After upgrading chipset/bios from asus' site it got better, but I'm still fighting with it from time to time. Maybe the newer driver blueyesdude...
