When the speeds are the same (3600MHz), its the CAS latency that matter (CL rating). lower is better. Going by that will the performance difference be too much, will have to check and see.

Yes the permissions need to be there, but in general the faculty himself starts the recording as many students refer to it later. So maybe ask the teacher himself?

Why not record using zoom itself. I mean all classes are generally recorded in teams, zoom etc. in my institute.

Well you can try reaching out the number in error and request to recharge to your number. If the guy is genuine, would surely help out. Rest I think there's no way out.
