Wat r the 5.1 spkrs avlbl in the 5-10k range?

Any1 knows the price for the Logitech X-530?

Or shud i just buy the ATP3 2.1?

P.S: how much do the Sonodyne base models cost?:tongue:

i d say 5.1 is good ..

bt not good w/o wireless speakers..

and we all kno that the wireless speakers wil cost a bomb and wil exceed ur budget waaaaaaaaaaaay over..

personally .. i dnt like the room to be a network of wires all over..

Purchase a set which gives u good sound .. so ATP3 or the Altec Lansing MX 5021 .. the latter has a THX certification and gets u a cinematic sound..

Wires are no prob really. 5.1 effect is waaay better than 2 channels, unless u listen only to music. For DVD’[s and Gaming it makes a big diff. But if u still want 2.1, ATP3 is for 2.7k and mx5021 is like 7.5k

You won’t get any sonodyne speakers for 10K. Besides, they’ll be passive, meaning you’ll need an amp. So, for your budget, stick to the PC speakers.

A budget sonodyne sys consisting of two sats+sub+amp would be atleast 15-16K. Get an MX5021.

mx5021 is simply leagues AHEAD of others. REAALY Superrrrb Audio!

Even closely Matches/excels( sumtimes…in Music) ‘my’ LT 5500 THX 5.1!

  • ALWAYS Go for the Best 2.1,BUT NEVER NEVER for a junk-chepo 5.1 !!!

I was planning to couple Sonodyne wid Worldspace,now maybe i can use it for dual purpose-as PC audio too..

Which is better-Base-model Sonodynes or MX5021 ? hav a SBlive! 24-bit..

P.S: if i incr. the budget to 15k-any good 5.1 that can come in that?

^^Thats the Genie 1 plus a 2 channel amp and their lowest end sub. I haven’t heard it personally so can’t comment on performance and whether its worth the premium over an mx5021. Check it out before deciding.

^^ Hmm, ok ave heard the model Chaos is talking about.

Didn’t really impress me, but heard some Onkyo 2.1 setup in the same store which was shivering (Didn’t ask the price though :face_with_tongue: ).

Actually, you’d be better off with a MX5021, cause investiing in high-end speakers is very tricky.

All the additional costs like good quality amps, wiring, etc. come out later :wink:

Now let these boys pipe down cause I have 3 of the models mentioned here…:tongue:

Firstly a good/gr8 2.1 is way better than a normal or cheap (read low end) 5.1

If u have to get 5.1 then the Z5300 is your best bet…very well built (better than the Z5500) and sound good… Note that all loggy’s are bass heavy (except the puny x230 which I don’t got :face_with_tongue: )

For music the MX5021 is the way to go.. great sound… I am planning buying another MX and hooking em up in parallel.. summer workshop :face_with_tongue:

The Z5500D isn’t in your budget, but you’re not missing much music wise, cause frankly the Z5300 is better (music)

The Z5500D excels in heavy bass like gaming (Q3 sounds AHHHH great), but the bass isn’t tight, and the sub will miss once every few beats..) For DVD movies the Z5300/Z5500D are your best pals… For music and casual everything else the altec rules…

for 10K I recommend the MX5021 or the Z5300… :grinning_face_with_smiling_eyes:

edit ATP3 is an overated POS…

^^Naa ATP3 is the best you can get for a 2.5K budget. There’s nothing that comes close to it in that price range.

Heard them, that downfiring sh1t doesn’t work…besides the satellites are too darn flimsy.
dunno bout better.. maybe some intex and frontech models :tongue: ???

as chaos said, the atp3 r the best speakers available under 3k…very tight bass n the downfiring “shit” works just fine
so either ur tone deaf or else the speakers u listened to were borked

I wasn’t talking about 3K, was talking about sound quality…heard them in chennai, tested them in mumbai… still not impressed.. if you were to compare an MX @ 7K and an ATP3 @ 3K its a no brainer…

And 3k and 7k are miles apart in budget!!:frowning:

Also many are not an ‘Audiophile’ like you are and if they find the ATP3 good enough, they wouldn’t mind saving the extra 4k needed for the MX5021!! :smiling_face_with_sunglasses:

And one of my friends reviews lots of pc stuff and he personally uses the ATP3!!
And is very satisfied with it!!:slight_smile:

And mere friend Delhiboy1000- best would be to carry your discman and get a demo of the ATP3 and the MX5021 at the dealer if possible or if some pal has that!!

As far as i am concened, so many have used the MX5021 and rated it so highly, that i am thinking of disconnecting my ‘Really awesome sounding’ bookshelf speaker system and getting that!! :grinning_face_with_smiling_eyes:
But i have requested ‘Zhopudey’ to listen to it and then advise if its worth the switch over in my case!!:slight_smile:
Coz i anyways have to use headphones most of the time these days!! :angry:

Well see my ears are used to the best.. eyes too.. that’s why I cam to mumbai (GF hint hint) :face_with_tongue:
