Going to buy a new phone for Mom. Primary requirement is 5 or 5.5 inch screen, voice clarity, video calling and lil bit browsing and a decent camera is also required with good display afap. The models I have in mind are
1.Asus Zenfone
2.RedMi Note
3.Micromax Canvas A250
What other fone can I look at and which is the best VFM?
Can increse the budegt a cpl grand if required.

If going to select from mentioned 3 models, I would say Asus Zenphone. In other options, as suggested above, can try Moto G 2nd gen.
if u can find 2nd hand mi3, it would serve u much much better. Even 2nd hand nexus 5 will do in yor budget.
In your budget 5-10K best VFM is Lenovo A6000
I am second with lenovo A6000. I used this phone yesterday as one of my friend just received it from flipkart.
Other choice is yureka. I have used it as well and i liked the camera with almost zero shutter.

Asus Zenfone 5 (A501CG) 8GB -7999.
Why not Lenovo A6000 or Yu Yureka. at 5.5" yureka is much lighter and smaller, though I have not used it personally. I have used Android One from Karbonn and Spice and both are damn good. They never hang, you get instant GPS lock of your position and great call quality. They cost you around 5-6K and best for budget-oriented guys I think.
Or you can wait for 3 months and see how prices of most phones will drop
Another vote for the Lenovo A6000. Got one for my dad and he likes it a lot. Only con being the buttons are not backlit so there might be an initial learning curve especially for parents.
I will suggest moto g 2nd.
