A few DSLR Legends: Canon 5D Classic, Nikon D200, Nikon D3

So my life has come to this moment where I’m pulling back from a hobby to go deeper into another.

These are very old cameras and they have not been well taken care of, they were meant for professional use and they have seen profession use. They’re not going to win any beauty contests.

But the buttons all work, autofocus works, memory cards work, displays, and the batteries hold SOME charge.

The D3 probably is in the worst condition but it’s my favourite. I mean just look at this:

My heart skips a beat when I look at that.

Anyway, here’s what’s included:

Nikon D3: Body only, battery, dual battery charger, generic body cap, no memory card, no power cable.

Nikon D200: Body only, battery, battery charger, generic body cap, no memory card, no power cable.

Canon 5D: Body only, battery, battery charger, generic body cap, no memory card, no power cable.

Both the 5D and D3 were purchased locally from local photographers but the D200 was purchased from KEH. They were all bought in the last five years.

If you absolutely must have the lenses, I can sell them to you but I really don’t want to.

There’s a brand new Yongnuo 40mm f2.8 for the D3, a brand new Yongnuo 50mm f1.8 II for the 5D and a Nikon 35mm f1.8 for the D200.

The Nikon 35 has some AF issues on newer bodies but it works fine on the D200. It was purchased from a local photographer. It has an original front cap and a lumix rear cap.

The Yongnuos were purchased new from Amazon in the last year or two and come with original caps.

The D200 is in the best condition, followed by the 5D that has a dim LCD and the D3 which has paint chips and some kind of white organic growth in the rear LCD.

The only guarantee I can offer is that they won’t be DOA. They’ll power on, they’ll autofocus, the buttons will work and they will all save images to a memory card.

There’s really nothing more that I can offer, these cameras are over 20 years old at this point.

Send in your offers through PM. I’d prefer F2F deals in Hyderabad but I can ship, it just might take a week or two to get these shipped out. Again, no warranty except a guarantee that it won’t be DOA.

Also note, I have half a mind not to go through this and sell some DDR4 instead.

At 1 point of time I was aping the 5D . I was the first in Chennai to buy a digital slr EOS300 in those days . I wanted to upgrade to a 5D but then my photography preferences were not that wide enough and my work needed specialised models and gigs which are not too predominant in India . I left photography after a couple of years after that .

Now I am looking out for C300m2 , c500m2 , BM Ursa or the ultra cheap Sony FX3 for video . If you happen to know anyone in your circle please let me know .

The 300D was an absolute legend. I spent everyday in awe with what Sam of DDOI shot with his, I had a dinky Kodak 2MP point & and shoot back then that I loved.

That D3 looks awesome. Inspite of its age, it still looks great.

I’ve been asked a few times about pricing and I honestly don’t know what to say, they were emotional purchases, I overpaid for them.

I bought the D3 for 38k and the 5D for 27k, I don’t remember how much the D200 was exactly, but it was under 20k. These are body-only prices.

But I’ve made peace with the reality of needing to sell them, so I’m open to offers.

Just remember: these are cosmetically mangled cameras, they’re very old cameras, they don’t have video recording or live-view, they’re very heavy and they need memory cards that are not easy to find.

The Nikon 35mm f/1.8 is available for 5k seperately but it has no AF anymore, its manual focus only.

Again, I’m not a camera snob, these are not pristine pieces. They’ll take great photos but they’ll look like they survived a war the entire time.
