well out of three tips and tricks section seems most logical but then we do have a tutorials section, wont that help?
And well as promised we shall have the linux section soon. Just get atleast 10 active members who want linux as separate section so that we get underpressure to introduce it soon.
hmmâŚyep we will get a Networking and Security section but then ppl post a lot less in that section. Why canât we use Internet section for internet security threads and Software for software security concerns etc. Networking can also be discussed in Hardware section. right?
About Tips n Tricks, that can be posted in respective sections. In my view, creating too many sections will clutter up the whole thing.
Now on to LINUX. Well, we were thinking in terms of section dedicated to Open Source community and that includes LINUX. Weâll be discussing about that but I guess weâll wait for the number of members to increase a bit b4 making such changes. For the moment, u can use our Operating System section for all your LINUX discussions.
Thanks for ur suggestions and weâll surely look into it. ![]()
okif someone asks which switch or which router, LAN card blah blah in hardware then ok
but will u discuss how to configure network services like ftp, webserver, ssh, samba, VNC and cofiguring networks routing,IP aliasing, VPN, network bridging in hardware section ![]()
valid point. ![]()
good point thereâŚ![]()
yep, weâll discuss on thatâŚand will try to have it ASAP. ![]()
cheers!
btw, urs is the most resourceful siggy iâve ever seen ![]()
Pk m8, you have me on your side about the section, But i will wait for a few more requests.
About open source, We will have that section very soon.
when will u add the section as linux topics are increasing
evil2:
yep..we are in process of doing some changes..
expect a seperate section for open source discussion soon enuf ![]()
thank you I like it ![]()
Man what about a polls only section? As i have pointed out there is no âcreate pollsâ as well.
No plans for any poll only section.
You can post polls on various topics in respective sections.
To post a poll, do the following:
1] Click on âNew Threadâ
2] Do as u do for posting any normal thread.
3] Under âAdditional Options â Post a Pollâ, check the box next to âYes, post a poll with this threadâ.
4] Enter the âNumber of poll optionsâ.
5] Click on âSubmit New Threadâ.
This will take you to a new page, where youâll be able to configure your poll. See, its simple. ![]()
HmmâŚthanks quickfire to explain how to create a poll, i knew this before ![]()
I just mentioned there was no button as âcreate pollâ thingâŚ
heheâŚ
well there are no âCreate Pollâ button in vbulletin, i guess.
Lemme know if uâve seen this in any other vbulletin forum. ![]()
Well we can have that button, But i donât think its needed.
Also No polls only section. Polls must go to valid forums. A complete mix of poll topics does not serve any purpose.
Why donât we have a poll b/w Linux and BSOD
to see if Linux subforum is really required
:angel1:
Actually I think a networking section might be a good idea, we will discuss about it ![]()
ya linux is not for lamers so best use microshit. if u referrring to that TA site about that poll let me tell that TA is microshit supported so hidden lamers voting for no linux ![]()
admin where to post E-books ??
nowhere right now,
see your pm for why ![]()
Ok wish grantedâŚ
we have the Open Source section now
