Afghans dont stand a chance… they still manage to fight back though. but like you said on ground . However war has changed a lot. ground attacks are easily tackled with drones and all.
Just look at this video. Afgans are sitting ducks. Pakistan is well loaded. Turkey drones, Chinese satellite and weapons, USA weapons and missiles. Beside that they also are much experienced.
Old-age kind erstwhile wars, Afgans indeed did win.
In new age wars, powerful countries exploited that geography for their political up-manship, killed thousands of local people and left that place when it’s not needed. That place and people are so effed up that when foreign invading forces dusted off their a**e and left after their power-show fantasy is over, it’s propagandized a win.
Such an interesting terrain and people, in grotesquely desperate situation, that is all.
Pak gets offensive the day an Official from Afghan gov is visiting India, the timing surely raises eyebrows.
Regarding Afghans and war, they can defend and engage in warfare for decades but going on an offensive is not in their playbook. There is a reason Afghanistan is called the Graveyard of the Empires.
arey bhai…no one is questioning Afghan people’s ability to face wars.
But that doesnt mean they win. USA came inside and had bases all over Afghanistan. Ruled them for 20 years . Took down the people they were hunting and left once their work was over.
Afghans were brave and faced it best they could but still you cant call it exactly a win.
Just tell me what any brave solider on ground with Ak-47( that too I think are first copy ones and not original Russian made) can do against drone 1000s of feet above with infrared, Night vision and precise striking.
Its like tying both hands of a person and sending him into a ring to fight with boxers like Muhammad Ali /Mike Tyson .
Above all this they have real serious civilization level problem now, the common knowledge on social media - talim means ‘to study / learn etc.’, taliban means ‘student’. This was a movement created at the behest of USA’s interest, which ironically now mean the exact juxtaposed opposite of those words.
Now, huge number of youth there cannot even read their own languages, leave alone English. They cannot even operate a properly structured taxi service. Their coming generations will be in serious trouble.
To add, how this will be a litmus test for recent Saudi-Pak agreement ?
