I researched about the best air fryer in 2025 because I’m planning to buy one for healthier and quicker meals at home. I checked reviews on Consumer Reports, Wirecutter (NYTimes), and Popular Mechanics, and these two models are consistently ranked among the best:
COSORI Air Fryer 9-in-1, Compact & Large 6-Qt, Fast Turbo Modes
However, I’m having trouble deciding which one would best suit my kitchen needs. I usually cook for 2–4 people and prefer easy-to-clean appliances. I want something versatile that can crisp, roast, and reheat well.
So which one should I buy? Any real-life user experience or expert advice would be really helpful.
Even in the microwave, I cover the glass or borosilicate bowl with a matching glass or borosilicate lid to reduce exposure to microplastics. While microwaves and ovens are mostly made of metal, the inside of the door often contains plastic.
The plastic is designed to withstand high heat cycles, but you should inspect it regularly to ensure there are no cracks or bubbling, which could lead to microplastics leaching into your food.
I personally use Instant Pot Vortex 6L. It works great for me, no complaints till now. Also, Amazon Prime Day is coming, you would probably get some good deals
Also, just saying, but air fryer is a convection oven. If you have one already and need to prepare larger portions at once, a convection oven works much better.
I don’t consume fried stuff often, so just stick with using the convection function of the oven.
I dont think a lot much research is needed on air fryers to buy.
Simply check the energy efficiency and brand warranty and that should doo.
I am using some 7-8 years old Havells Air Fryer which dont even have any buttons but have only 2 knobs (1 for timer, other for temperature) and trust me I used it for cooking, heating, baking and everything that’s possible out of air fryers.
I had seen that one in the past. From a principle perspective, it doesn’t differ.
Benefit is the more confined space in air fryer results in slightly faster cooking at slightly lower temperature. Definitely okay to buy it if you fry a lot.
As I mentioned previously, I don’t consume too much fried stuff, so a convection oven works fine for me, especially when portions are meant for the entire family.
Air fryer can be used to bake/sauté veggies with very less oil. You can roast nuts, potatoes, and any other things that you want to. I find it quite versatile. It also cooks small quantities quite quickly, and does not require a lot of monitoring as it cooks evenly at moderate temperatures. I have a simple microwave, an OTG, and an Air Fryer. All three are used for different purposes. Air fryer and microwave get used more often.
The Philips, or the Pigeon are cost effective and good. It is good to get a silicone container for the air fryer. It allows the inside to stay clean, and you can just clean the container.
Consider looking at models where you can see inside pretty easily to see if anything’s starting to burn or brown. There are some where the top opens, those look better designed than the tray/handle/basket types. But then the handle types allow for easier extraction.
Should be fine if you have heat resistant gloves and/or mitts for extraction. Air fryers are just regular ovens with a fan and a digital display, in a more compact form factor.
Maybe don’t use air fryer at all, knowing very well that it has a lot more plastic than a microwave or oven. Even worse if it has non stick coating inside.
This reminds of that old Indian Steamer that every house has, looks something like this.
I just need some quick cooking tools u know for bachelor room. Already got one induction stove , kettle for those noodles eggs , just wanna get a fryer to get some quick recipies hence
