Just checked afterburner, the fan seems to be working fine. Still out of precaution set my speed manually, don’t want to risk it as my card is out of warranty. :bag:
yup that’s the most scary part. A small driver update (with the potential to kill) killing a $200-$300 worth GPU. Feel sorry for the unlucky ones. I wouldn’t want that to happen to me. Paranoid about RMA issues. >_>
On Amd cards, the VRMs will burn before the gpu. I remember seeing 95 degrees on my 7970 Ghz edition. I am guessing they are dying cos of burnt VRMs. Sad way to launch a new driver effort.
More threads have come up and more complaints have been reported. AMD is going to get a lot of flak for this and it WILL hurt their credibility. Sales nowadays are literally driven by online/social media community posts.
Man AMD HAS TO UNDERSTAND
" desperate times,desperate measures. "
Or
burn in its own flames
It was my favourite company once
