Expected a bit more punch from it.Should have crossed the gtx 570/480 in terms of performance.Anyways it’s a bit early to speculate without actual game benchmarks.Now the real deal would be the pricing.If priced substantially below the 350$ mark of the gtx 570 it would be a showstopper.But again this site might be a hoax too

Some places already listed it at 450$ early price inflation in mind it might be a little cheaper. 100% sure its going to be 400$+.

That’s why i doubt the authenticity of this benchmark.no way AMD would release a card at the same price point as the 480 and expect it to sell while being a lower performer.
BTW the 6970 seems to have 1600 SPs and a core frequency of 880 MHz while VRAM is at 1375 MHz

Considering the perofrmance of a 1120 SP equipped 6870(core 900 MHz) is quite close to the 1600 SP hd 5870(core 850 MHz) the performance of the HD 6970 should be much better considering the improvements shown in performance/SP ratio of the Barts XT
So I think we should wait a few days for NDA to lift and see what the actual picture is :grinning_face_with_smiling_eyes: :grinning_face_with_smiling_eyes:
Do u guys think that AMD would go thru a extensive R & D process and make a card that’s slower than a almost year-old gtx 480 ???

Thats what its looking like right now … a year of r&d and something a little faster than 480… its doing better in games than 480 I think, 580 and 570 came out of nowhere and crashed amd’s party :face_with_tongue:

Im disappointed with the performance its barely keeping up with the 480,if its priced above the 480, game over for amd.
