well you can call it the fastest stock quad core processor in terms of raw ghz but not something which would beat its intel counterparts… performance/oc’ing wise… just another Phenom II I guess… unless AMD would pull out a rabbit from its hat…

Its not a fast CPU actually, running @ 2ghz, its a cherry picked phenom II capable of massive overclock. The 2ghz chip has done 7ghz till date i.e 5ghz OC

AMD has yet to catch Intel i7 . and still I don’t think they have anything up the in the sleeves Hopefully things will change with Leo platform when they release 32nm counterpart in QX 2010
The Leo platform as of now will feature Phenom II [45nm] | AMD RS 880D/890 | ATI 5XXX series graphics 
The RS890/88-0 motherboard is however scheduled for Nov 09

whether they support DDR2 AM2+ or only for DDR3 AM3??
surelly DDR3 AM3 coz most of the PII proccys nowadays are AM3 [apart from X4 920 and 940].
Why will AMD release a new board with older Am2+ The 8 seires will be purely Am3..
But since Phenom II has dual IMC onboard you can expect DDR2 variant from vendors With plummeting DDR3 prices I don’t think anyone will buy DDr2 now
