AMD Ryzen 5 7500X3D Reportedly In The Making; Another Budget 6-Core Zen 4 X3D Chip
Looks like AMD won’t discontinue the Zen 4 lineup any time soon and is keen to bring more X3D chips for the budget segment.
Ryzen 5 7500X3D Spotted on a UK Distributor; Will AMD Launch Worldwide at CES?
The Zen 4 lineup just got another addition as the prominent leaker @momomo_us spotted a new Ryzen 7000X3D CPU on a UK distributor called West Coast. The CPU page reveals a new SKU model name and a new product code, suggesting that AMD is going to expand the Ryzen 7000 lineup even further.
As you can see from the screenshot, it’s the Ryzen 5 7500X3D with the product code: “100-000001904”, which appears to be the smaller sibling of the Ryzen 5 7600X3D launched last year. The processor was initially launched as Microcenter-exclusive in the US, but was later expanded to regions like China and EMEA. It’s not clear whether Ryzen 5 7500X3D will see a launch worldwide, but there is a possibility.
Coming to the specs, the page hasn’t listed the specifications, but we can expect it to be another 6-core/12-thread CPU, boasting 96 MB of L3 cache via a 32 MB + 64 MB configuration using 3D V-Cache technology. It’s expected that the Ryzen 7500X3D should bring lower clocks compared to the Ryzen 5 7600X, but everything else should remain the same.
We already have plenty of budget Zen 4 SKUs, and AMD has been launching options like Ryzen 5 7500F and Ryzen 5 7400F after releasing the initial batch of Ryzen 7000 CPUs. Moreover, it continued the Zen 4 lineup by debuting Ryzen 8000 series like Ryzen 7 8700F and Ryzen 5 8400F recently, but the Ryzen 5 7500X3D is the most entry-level X3D chip till now. AMD’s 3D V-Cache technology has helped these processors improve gaming performance by a significant margin, and assuming that AMD already has plenty of silicon to make more Zen 4 CPUs, it’s clear that AMD won’t stop here.
At the moment, the Ryzen 7000 series has the highest number of Ryzen X3D chips, including Ryzen 7 7800X3D, Ryzen 9 7900X3D, Ryzen 9 7950X3D, Ryzen 5 7600X3D, and this is the fifth SKU in the series. However, Ryzen 9000 could bring even more, considering we already have three, and AMD is expected to debut Ryzen 7 9850X3D and Ryzen 9 9950X3D at CES. So, it’s expected that AMD might introduce Ryzen 5 7500X3D at the same time.
