AMD x2 240 with Asus M2n68-am plus beep

hi guys I recently assembled a computer…with Amd x2 240 with Asus M2n68-am plus n 2gb kingston memory.

The problem i’m facing is that on starting it for the 1st time.it gives single beep..like post is succesful types n then after few seconds two short quick beeps…

Tried removing the proccy ram n putting them back again…tried different RAM as well but still same error…i need quick help…since i have to give this computer to some1 by 2mrw…

Try a BIOS update with another processor maybe. Friend had the same MoBo comes with a pretty outdated one. Download new one from Asus website.

Please go through the Mobo manual for details, it should have some information regarding the beep from the mobo.

Try lowering frequency of the memory, Do the BIOS update as suggested by hash.

how to do??dont have a floopy drive…plus system doesnt boot at all…

^.. Again go through the manual… All modern mobos can flash BIOS without a Floppy drive… You can use a USB pen drive or a CD… Its all written there..

Which bios rev are you running? I have 14 PC’s of the exact same combo and they work fine :face_with_tongue:

Have the same combo and touch wood everything has been sailing smooth here.

I think issue here is with the RAM slot…according to manual…shall i go for replacement

Try running with 1 or 2 RAM’s at a time.

Yes that could be the reason. Go for a replacement. Or ask the dealer abt this problem.
