Another AC related... on energy rating

Hi,
The cost advantage derived from better energy rating… does it remain in the long run? I mean, say after 2-3 years will a 5 start rated AC still remain more efficient than a 3 star one?

Also does the AC running cost increase as the AC gets old ?

yes 5 star is more energy efficent

If you are thinking that a 5 star a/c would reduce in efficieny and become as efficient as 4 star, then even a 3 star wud reduce and become 2 stars :slight_smile:

Broadly speaking, the running costs do not increase unless some part fails and need to be replaced, thus adding up the cost.

What may actually happen is industry makes A/Cs much more efficient than out current 5 star ones and the 5 star manufactured now are only as efficient as 1 star or so.. like 10 years down the line.. !! optimism :slight_smile:
