I think if you reject it. they just cut some fees like Rs 500 something . Please note I am not hundred percent sure but I remember going through something like that many years ago for someone ordering a tablet.
If you reject the delivery at your doorstep (especially for pre-orders, high-value devices, or instant exchange orders), Samsung may deduct a cancellation fee; recent user experiences mention fees of ₹999 to ₹2999.
Common man Rs 3k…. Amazon and Flipkart are dealing with such cancellations and returns in 1000s every day . They dont go asking for 3k cancellation charge.
They need to be little consumer friendly too . Ofcourse consumers have a choice to not order from them.
And thank god I read about this. I use to think it is Rs 500 something. This is Jhatka ( shocking for me)
Will avoid this Samsung website for the rest of my life.
It is all about the supply chain costs. Amazon has an extensive network and the large volumes allow various order to piggy back on one another from different sources to same destinations… Leading to significantly reduced costs.
I’m sharing with you a real life case. imagine sending a fridge to a remote village in the middle of nowhere where there is only kaccha road for entry and there is a river separating the warehouse the destination village. Now imagine no one else in that village (or nearby areas) orders from samsung. Just for that fridge, samsung has to contract a mini trick which will charge 3k-5k for the trip where only the fridge will be delivered. Also if the people need to carry the fridge (say to and from river ferry / boat), add labour charges.
I think they have kept 3k as liability contingency for such scenarios. Still agree it is high though - but costs can baloon up quickly.
