Hey guys - has anyone of you purchased AppleCare+ for the your Airpods Pro?
is it really worth the additional price of 3k which has 2 years coverage ?
They mention about paying additional 2500 service fee each time.

100% worth it. I got them replaced for damage at end of coverage. So I have been using them for 4 years now. The mid cycle battery refresh was life save. Well worth the 3k.
ok you mention about two different situation..
1). replaced for damage at end of coverage
so the airpods were actually damaged or they just replace if you take it?
2). the mid cycle battery refresh was life save
how does this work ? mid cycle u mean at the end of the first year ?
and does it include case battery?
also do they charge 2500 everytime u get a airpods replacement or battery replacement ?
I think only @cavalier here pays for Applecare+ for small Apple items
It accidentally went through the washing machine right before apple care was up
You can also get them to run diagnostic on your airpods around that time and request replacement. If you use them regularly, they will be eligible for replacement.
Airpods have a small battery so of course after daily use at 2 years they start to become weak. So when I got them changed at 2 years, they have me ones that were with fresh battery.
Yes you have to pay 2500 when you get them replaced. Essentially you are guaranteeing yourself another set of airpods for 5500 at 2 years if you get apple care.
Yes it includes everything. I got a brand new case with new airpods in them.
I’m not sure if that was a sarcastic dig or not but the applecare for airpods is actually the most worth it when compared to the prices for larger devices and their deductible.
No it was meant to convey that there would be most likely only one person who is having AppleCare+ for Airpods in the whole forum
Absolutely get it if you have the money. I default to advising everyone to get AC+ or equivalent insurance coverage for their expensive devices. Factor that in and buy. Else, save up and buy later.
`
Apple Care+ for Macbook are also decently prices, its 10k now
Hence my comment was that it dont make much sense for small items such as Airpods
Want to elaborate why you think that?
wow, apple is on another planet.
Lenovo gave extended warranty (+ADP) for my laptop priced at ~60k for around 2k from what i remember. So about 3-5% of price. Did not have to use it.
Not only Apple but Dell as well. It is the reason I just pick up the Asus extended warranty for 3 years coverage at about 3k on purchase. It is on site support, so don’t have to go to a service centre either.
My AirPods Pro 2 are still under warranty but I would rather sell them off losing a few thousand after some use and pick up something different, rather than take the extended warranty.
AppleCare for other products may be not worth it but for Airpods and iPads i feel its worth that extra premium
Size is not the factor. Price is.
Apple Services includes App Store, Apple Pay, Music, TV+, iCloud among other things which generate a lot of the services revenue. AppleCare by itself is not that large.
What cherrypicking data to support your statement looks like
Got one for my AirPods Pro 2 and also my PowerBeats Pro 2. Haven’t had a chance to use them yet.
Have got Apple Care+ for every device I own except my iPhone because I got it second hand and my iPhone’s motherboard went toast a week ago. Cost of replacement comes up to around 1L as the motherboard replacement is 60k and display is also bent so that’s around 37k.
Also to note that Apple Care+ on MacBooks does not include catastrophic damage. There are multiple threads on reddit about their MacBook running under a truck and so on where Apple has refused to replace the MacBook.
