Twice as much is putting it a bit too far I’d say but yeah that does sound around right. I was always open to negotiation from the beginning tbh, but the fact that you can’t buy this laptop in Indian markets, the 360 hinge and the touchscreen plus stylus should count for something don’t you think? Either ways, I just want to sell it for enough to get myself an okayish gaming laptop or maybe even trade it. If you were selling it, what would you price it at?

You would be lucky if you can get half your asking price for the laptops which have been heavily used and how old they are.
I would however advise you to format the marketplace post more clearly and show some benchmarks. Helps potential buyers.

One of them is debatably a bit used but the other one is basically brand new with almost no wear and tear. I don’t really understand why I should be asking for 40k for laptops that retailed at 1.1lakh barely a year and a half ago.
I mean yeah I should have shown some benchmarks but this laptop’s a thin and light and the main selling point’s supposed to be the form factor and the stylus right? I still agree that my asking price might be a tad too high for now, considering lowering it down to 65k and 70k respectively for them.
I initially based my pricing off this graph here, I thought I’d sell it a bit above the average used price. Following the 100 inr to usd conversion rate we usually see on all hardware tbh.
Laptops is sellers market and prices degrade by a bit, you can quote a higher price but people won’t consider or buy anyways and the value would keep degrading. 50-55k is what I think you can expect, i would probably try to find a use for them instead of loosing soo much by selling them.
Could I expect 60-65k for them these days? Also, yes, if no one buys these then they’re going to continue to be used. It’s a pretty cool laptop just not what I need at the moment. Thanks for the advice though.
Yes you can try with 70k and see where you go from there, You would recieve a lot of low ball offers which you can ignore.
Thanks for the advice, also do you think anyone would be open to a swap or something with a gaming laptop for one of these? Also, if I did sell one for 60k, does the current market have much in the way of a gaming laptop aside from the infamous 3050 in that range? I don’t know why but it feels like the prices of laptops are 10k higher than they used to be half a year ago.
Windows laptop will never hold their value, brand new ones are being sold at very high price, even the budget ones. That’s why the moment you put one on sale, even the slightly used one, the price will tank down by huge amount, gives you idea what this thing is really worth in the real world.
Macbooks are different, even the old ones will hold their value, and that value is decided by the market, they are not inflated by any means, they are also built very well, aah at least most of them.

Your formatting is bad. I couldn’t tell which laptop is which from photos. Make the listing clear for a potential buyer to understand.
E.g. Item 1 - details and pics. Then leave some space. Item 2 - details and pics. Right now, it looks jumbled.
For 80K or even 60-65K, people can buy good budget gaming laptops brand new. These are not much in demand without GPUs. The office-going Ultrabook users would rarely buy second-hand imo. Most get their work laptops from their company and have a beefy desktop or gaming laptop for their personal use. This is my subjective opinion based on personal observation, so YMMV.
So yeah, these are niche items and hard to sell in second-hand market without taking a huge hit. Your laptops also look heavily used.
I suggest finding alternative uses for them if you can’t stomach that pricing hit. Like you said, it is what it is.

One of them is already down to basically 60k, and I’m open to negotiate so I could go down even lower if needed. As for being heavily used could you please point out why you think so, aside from the bent hinge (which was an accident) these laptops haven’t really been used that much, they’re basically a year and a half old. I’m a bit confused but I’ll try to make it a better deal for everyone involved.
I can’t quote a number as I haven’t been in the market for a laptop for quite some time. Personally, when I sell stuff around here, I am willing to go down upto a certain limit, and if some lowballers are genuinely interested, they would bargain and meet me in the middle. If the number is too low for me, I might just not sell it altogether. Better to give it to someone in the family.
So I guess that number depends solely on you. You could try searching for similar laptops in second hand market other than this forum and see what they are selling for.

From what I can see, this is about the same age as my machine, a generation older processor, with build quality not as good and the screen probably isn’t as colour accurate either. Since it’s selling at 45k, I feel like 60k is an okay price point for my laptop right?
Generally things don’t sell for the listed amount as all negotiations happen over DM.
I sold a laptop here once and settled for less than 40% of the purchase price after 3 years, excluding the price paid for additional warranty.
Windows laptops depreciate really fast simply because generational upgrades are significant and component prices also drop fast.
Lastly, what you may have valued a lot in your purchase decision might not matter to most buyers, as a lot of people simply look at the specs.
That’s honestly normal for computers. Assuming your electronics depreciate at the rate of 20% a year, you’d end up with 40% of the initial value after three years. I’m completely fine with that. I’m just confused why my laptop which isn’t even two years old yet, has to sell at half the original price when it should be closer to 60%. Either way, I recognize that one of them is not in the greatest condition, so I’ll probably drop it to 55k after a week, but the other one is perfectly fine and should be a good deal at 65k.

Yoga is higher in the lineup of lenovo than Thinkbook (which is downgraded thinkpad).
