ASRock Challenger RX 6700XT

Purchased this used card for my secondary build, but will keep this or RX 7700XT based on whatever sells first.

Original buyer mentioned he purchased it sometime in Jan 2022 and only used for gaming, but I have no means to check the authenticity. Buyer is a good friend of mine and I don’t think he will be untruthful.

I haven’t used this one much, just stress tested the card with Furmark 2 and faced no issues. Played a game for 30 mins and had no issues either. Buyer also said he never faced any issues with the card, he sold it to me since he upgraded.

As you can see the bracket has rust, but I don’t see any rust inside I/O ports. The backplate screws also have some rust but the seal seems intact which indicates this card was never opened.

F2F deal preferred as the buyer can check the card condition and then buy.

I have removed the card from my system now, but will definitely reinstall and send benchmarks if someone is interested.

@@Typhon As the card is not in warranty you can remove the rusted screws and back bracket and use white vinegar to clear off the rust and use silicone grease to prevent further rusting. If you don’t treat the rust it will keep spreading and the entire bracket will be unusable.

Thing is I have never opened a GPU. I would definitely do this if I keep it for myself. If I am selling it, would rather let the buyer do this since he will get a sealed GPU.

I say if because I will sell either this or

I have a preference towards keeping 7700xt because of the condition + warranty, but don’t mind this either given the performance difference is around 30% only.

Can also exchange with 5700x3d or 5600 + cash.

Is there chance of rust already spread to the inner components?

Interested, Can you provide furmark test? I don’t feel v good about this but try my luck.

As discussed in DM, you backed out. Right after I asked you to bear shipping costs + risks to Delhi? You probably didn’t read the thread details.

To any other potential buyer, I don’t know why he wasn’t feeling very good. But I can definitely share furmark test and there are no issues while running the test.

If the buyer wants me to check this, I can open it. But if there is no rust evidence in the components (on PCB) then the buyer will have to buy the card once I open it.

If there is any rust evidence in the card I will remove the sale thread and keep it for myself, but buyer can’t back out for reasons like it needs thermal pad or paste replacement which is a very likely thing for a 3+ years old card.

Shared benchmark video with @@drxart and @@Greyfalcon with @@drxart being first in the queue.

Received token from @@drxart , will hand over GPU in “as-is” condition once I meet him.

Apparently adding a benchmark evidence should have been done long before. There was a sudden rise in interest after the above photo.

Checked few GPU sale threads providing testing warranty. Just informed @@drxart that I will not be providing any testing/DOA warranty when I hand over the GPU. He is free to take back the token, but he said he is okay with the terms.

This is done in good faith dude.

I agree, thing is I was already providing the GPU at a good price due to its condition, where the buyer has further bargained on it. As I mentioned I have not used the GPU much, so don’t want to take any extra risk.

We talked a lot, a lot of topics, so I had confidence in him…
We are also doing a F2F deal in Bangalore, by end of this month.
I usually ask if there are any discounts possible just in case…

I haven’t booked any tickets, might get delayed as well. Feel free to arrange a pickup.

Full payment received, parcel picked up. Also sold a couple of RAM sticks and an SSD, since I might not upgrade my secondary PC after all.

There is not much components on the gpu that can rust except the screws and screw with spring(I am not sure if every card has that though) that is used to hold the heatshink to the gpu. Also the heatshink looks kinda got the rust but I think its made from aluminum so I am not sure what I am seeing.

One thing that I say to @@drxart is please remove the rust before you use it else the rust will spread inside the case, it will first spread to the screw that holds the gpu in the slot and then it will spread everywhere. For some reason the case fan screws(cooler master ones) act as a rust magnet.
