Hi ,
Does anyone have experience with asus gpu bought in US that needed to be rmaed in india,if so whats asus policy on these ?
I understand asus has certain warranties that apply globaly, but whats the situation for gpus.
I was thinking of buying a Asus tuf 4080 super bought from US from a known ,the price is really good but the warranty is making me unsure.
Anyone have any experience?
Forget warranty, they wouldn’t touch even if you offered to pay.
Get either MSI or Zotac, at least they’ll repair it for a fee.
Did you ever have a experience like this with them?
I have emailed asus with serial no. Of the gpu and everything to check on the policy . Lets see
MSI - yea, for GPU. Got a 3060ti repaired during covid.
Asus also yes, but for a keyboard. It was readily available in India but they were fixated on sending it to the US. Ended up remapping the keys.
Zotac no, but they’re the gold standard in RMA. The statement was based on hope.
No gpu manufacturer gives international warranty currently. EVGA used to but you had to send it to taiwan IIRC. Like others said some AIBs will repair it for a fee, not all though.
Asus doesn’t have international warranty for gpus, I’ve bought one in the past and it was DOA, had to send it back to the US for RMA.
Like others have said, nobody provides international warranty for GPUs. Either buy from India or get it from USA and if something goes wrong with it you can get it repaired through a 3rd party repair shop.
It would be considered an achievement to grab warranty for items bought here in India for Asus let alone for internationaly bought products
come to think of it my only rma experince with asus was for a motherboard, wasn’t very good. That was years ago,i would have assumed it would have gotten better by now.
yeah ,i think i might consider it since the price is really good. The guy who is selling is a reliable known and regularly visits US,assures me that he will help in case anything goes bad.
something to ponder.
thanks for all the replies, guys, helps clear things a bit.
If that’s the case then its best. He can RMA the card for you in case it does go bad.
yeah, i am thinking about it ,lets see.
Buying nvidia GPUs lately is such a hassle, makes me finally wanna jump the ship to AMD after all these years ,get a 9070xt and just call it a day. ![]()
Normally I’d say go for it. But recently AMD decided not to give redstone support to older cards (even though they’re perfectly capable) just to push their 9000 series sales.
What’s to say their 9000 series won’t face the same in the future?
True however Nvidia is not a good samaritan either, they do their due from time to time too.No fg on older 30 series cards being one of the prime examples.
and 9070 xt is still easily available at 68-70k ,infact it has even dropped in price lately, and its perfomance is top tier.
