Got this board few days back.Havent actually started overclocking as such but bumped my Venice to 2.0G.Nothing more as of now.
First impression of the board - silence due to fanless design,it is a nice board to have in a P180.I am using 6200TC which again has passive cooling so the system stays really very very quiet.
The pricing is not exactly sweet @ 15k all inclusive but still mobos is my weak point, what can i do ?
Although i must mention that there are some issues with the board which will be sorted out with later BIOS releases.
Dont worry, nothing major just minor glitches here and there.Otherwise its an excellent board and i am lovin it.
@ Dipdude - I am not buying an Opty.I am going for X2 3800+
I dont plan to do SLI in the near future as i am not a gamer.May be i will do 6600GT SLI just for the sake of it.But notsure about that. The Board has 8 Phase power design,it helps in overclocking.Well if you observe carefully, its not too much of cooling.Cos,since its a passive cooled solution, the temps of the northbridge, southbridge,VRs need to be kept under safe limit.
SO earlier Asus Boards for NF4 had active cooling. So thats the main reason behind heatpipe and copper heatsinks.I was expecting the same temps as on A8N SLI Dlx.
Although this is my personal opinion.I have not yet overclocked it to see the effects.
I will post here, what i come across after overclocking.
The cooling solution is worth it as even after it being passive solution,it keeps things pretty cool.
Damn !!! i knew darky must be “upgrading” …(how can i forget such simple facts of life…)
since there was a flurry of activity amongst the revenue people of his city recently(I.Tax , Excise, Sales )
i also have fanless ASUS premium …this thing also rocks no noise and very kool, at least better than the other NF4’s i mean in noise … and believe me darky even with starice and 7800GTX, P180 is still very silent(and i mean it) … before if i increase the starice fan RPM anything above 3200 i can hear the jet engine noise but now i am running it @ 4000RPM without any disturbing noise … P180 really rocks …
