ATI X1xxx Series News

One thing you all can be sure of… There will be none available in India :face_with_tongue: … On a serious note that is one move which i really want from ATI…

One word for ya: Sapphire…
Neways Asus, gigabyte and powercolor as well club will be bringing in the latest lineup.

The 7800GTX also has 16 real pipes that can do raster ops. It has 24 shader pipes. So finally if its raster op limited (very few things are), then it’ll behave like a 16pipe card. There is this interesting thread at beyond3d discussing graphics pipes. check it out if u wanna more.

Uggh ! Vrzone is reporting some different specs !

Radeon X1800 (R520) Series

â–ª X1800 XT Crossfire Edition : 24 pipelines, 10vs, 650MHz core, 1400MHz memory, Composition Engine

â–ª X1800 XT : 24 pipelines, 10vs, 650MHz core, 1400MHz memory

â–ª X1800 Pro : 16 pipelines, 550MHz core, 1250MHz memory

â–ª X1800 XL : 16 pipelines, 500MHz core, 1000MHz memory

â–ª X1800 LE : 12 pipelines, 450MHz core, 900MHz memory

Too much confusion over the specs

see some bench marks HERE

but one person wrote on overclockers forum

Hmm, maybe so. I think ATi is just bluffing. The XT will match up to the 7800 GTX for sure. So thats really an XT not an XL.

The engg samples released by ATI are very select few and ATI knows where they are

This is POS what hardware analysis has. They did exact similar thing with GF6 series and ATI X8XX series. These are their so called calculated FPS nos.

It takes 7800GTX as standard. Then they apply mathamatical formula on speculated specifications of the R520s and thats how they come up with these numbers

And they are not. they dont have the card on which they have performed the benchmarkes and got the results. its just mathamatical calculation by them. really lame representation.

They were off by 30-40% when they did similar thing with GF6 and X8XX series.

P.S. ATI has released the X1800XT grade chips quiet a while ago to the select few testers that are under strict NDA. None is ever released to press. They avoid that delibrately.

ATI did not like what they were posting so they cut them off from and they do this for revange or negative publicity. Thats all about it. No screenies, no pics, noone will believe them.

Update:

This is what ATI replied to the press.

EDIT:

2nd reply from ATI regarding this.

Radeon X1300, RV515 available in droves

Haha, nice article..

The hardware analysis article is pure FUD. They don’t have any cards. Its a typical cry baby attitude :face_with_tongue: for being left out of the NDA bound reviewers.

the x1800xt having 16 pipelines compared to 20 for 7800gt & 24 for 7800gtx i surely feel this will make some diff. in the games coming in near future.
also with q4 & enemy territory releasing soon which are both on the doom3 engine might have an advantage for nvidia.

anyways only time will say how good x1800xt is compared to the gtx.

& what funky wrote was exactly right. the thing ati did before the release of x8xx series with those mathematical calculations & saying that x800xt is so much better etc really backfired on them when the card released. before the x800xt releases, in the benchmarks it showed nearly 40 - 50% better performance than a 6800 ultra which wasnt true.
& aces this is the reason y i thought ati x800 series would be great but it wasnt.

anyways i hope nvidia remains better since i am getting my 7800gt next month otherwise ill have to think bout the x18xx series.

Hehe and you posted exactly the opposite of what funky posted. Funky posted abt the Site being FUD. The site had screwed x800 series numbers b4 launch as well. Apparently Mr Sander Sassen doesnt have a good relationship with ATi and people are calling BS on that article. Those are just a bunch of calculated numbers. No pics no nothing.

are you talking about the crossfire article ? saw something where they said that the max resolution is 1600x1200 @ 60hz

edit:nvm you were talking about the benches. the article i saw was this

^^I meant the R520 review article. I read that too abt crossfire. Don’t know if its true… I doubt if ATI wold be so dumb :face_with_tongue:

Here’s an explanation from the article author detailing what exactly went on to get those benchmark results and his personal feelings towards ATI:
